This double-sided concave installation illustrates that data storage is not only digital. Biological networks, chemical chains in DNA and RNA, and ecological systems, preserve and replicate information. A leaf stores information just as does a CD.

In conceptualizing the inter-connectedness and common roots of natural and man-made storage systems, I used recycled CD’s, heat laminating them with dried foliage on one side; and dyed, discharged, rusted, printed and burned fabrics on the other side – all interconnected with embroidered strings.
