There are times when sound and images envelop me, swelling, receding, growing, and diminishing, This three-dimensional work communicates that embrace. Through the colorations, shirring, stitching and concave shaping, I am coaxing the viewers to share this space and feel their own inner music.

This work was created in a single piece of cloth; laid flat on newly mown grass in full sunshine; masked and repeatedly sprayed with warm liquids. There are no side seams to infer a strong edge, but a fold-over edge that sweeps the cloth to the back. The shimmering surface expands its musical notes through stitching that ripples from side to side, never actually engaging the edge.
