Sea Gypsies
4-6 ft high x variable width
Created entirely from recycled materials, these jelly fish speak to my years of scuba diving. There has been a dramatic increase in the population of jelly fish as our sea temperatures have risen. While beautiful and graceful, their sheer numbers are causing dramatic changes in coral and small fish populations around the world
A few of the Sea Gypsies installation are hung here in front of a “sea wall”. Each jelly fish varies from 8-12” in diameter. They are created with re-cycled bridal organza, bubble wrap and plastic lids; heat-formed, burned, and individually sewn and strung together.
While over 100 jelly fish are available for exhibit, the number actually displayed depend on the space and configuration of the gallery.
