Fire Starter

I was contemplating the many dangerous wildfires we have experienced lately and thinking how our man-made fire-setting talents first started – envisioning some lonely cave man rubbing stones together to create that first spark.

I created this work as a stark black and white composition, with only the flickering stars above and his fire beaded in flaming color.
