Ablaze III

Night skies are ablaze with hillside forest fires. The approaching threat is felt in the fierce line of burning tree tops that seem to surround me. This concave, double-sided, triptych is created with dyed and discharged satin, layered, stitched, and burned on the edges.

This work was exhibited at the 13th International Textile Triennial in Lodz, Poland, where it received The Jurors Award for excellence and innovation.
