Night Bloom

The Southern part of Colorado is a high desert with many exotic plants. This dimensional art quilt references one of my favorite cactus’ that produce huge fragrant white blossoms that open only at night. I’m hoping that the convex shape of this work invites the viewer to share in the surprise upon discovering these flowers glistening in the moonlight.

I created this work on Egyptian cotton fabric, dyed and discharged on snow.
